Former Care Partner and Host of the PCLA support group Care Partner Connection
My dad was diagnosed with PD at age 53 in 2006, the same year I moved from Denver to Los Angeles. My girlfriend of 10 years was also a care partner for her mother with PD. I have experienced long-distance caring, as well as intensive, 24/7 caring during end stages that occurred during the pandemic. I try to assist care partners with education, tools, and resources, as well as how to deal with the challenging emotional toll.
